The UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT) will bring a trade delegation of eleven successful UK fintech companies to Australia and New Zealand in March. The trade mission will build on the success achieved by several UK companies in Australia, such as Ratesetter, ThinCats, TruRating and OTCX by promoting opportunities in Australian and New Zealand fintech, including in the emerging regtech, insurtech and blockchain sectors. Move over term deposits, peer-to-peer lending is on the rise for Aussie investors
Individual Aussie investors have lent an average of $13,508 in the last nine months as they chase better returns in a low-yield environment, according to leading peer-to-peer lender RateSetter. This figure is a 25.4% increase from the $10,770 lent in the previous nine months. Cloud SMSF administration software provider, Class, has collaborated with peer-to-peer lender, RateSetter, to provide self-managed superannuation fund (SMSF) accountants and their clients with a direct-connect date feed. This would allow for automated data entry and transactions processing within Class.
