Australia a target for international fintechs

Australia’s wealth management industry is an attractive prospect for foreign technology firms and will likely see international players enter the market in coming years, a Microsoft report has found. DigitalX advises Power Ledger on Australia’s first Initial Coin Offering (ICO)

DigitalX Ltd advises that it has been engaged as an advisor to Blockchain energy trading company Power Ledger for its Initial Coin Offering (ICO). Older Aussies ‘lack’ confidence with financial technology

It’s not that older Australians lack the capacity to engage with modern banking technology, but that they lack the confidence, a major Australian bank has said. New data from the Commonwealth Bank shows that older Aussies are “increasingly” using technology to stay on top of their finances. You can now pay for your Jetstar flights with Afterpay

Afterpay for flights just took off. Afterpay has announced a partnership with budget airline Jetstar, allowing customers to purchase their flights now and pay for them in four interest-free instalments later. For those of you not yet in the know, Afterpay works in a similar way to lay-by, only you get to take home your purchases before you finish paying for them.
