New scholarship announced to grow future FinTech leaders

FinTech may be the talk of the town, but it’s nothing if it doesn’t move forward. To ensure the industry keeps innovating, and to give back to the country supporting their battle against the ‘big dogs’ of the FinTech world, Nifty Personal Loans (Nifty) has launched a scholarship program.

To pave the way for the business and finance leaders of tomorrow, Nifty has announced that they will be giving one Bachelor or Masters Business, Finance or IT student a helping hand in the form of a $2500 lump sum each semester which can be used for university fees, resources and technology, research materials and text books. Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents looking to get involved in FinTech are invited to apply for the chance to help shape one of the fastest growing sectors in Australia, of which lending is a top contender according to the KPMG Australian Fintech Landscape report released in August 2017.

It’s not the first time Nifty has looked to graduates to help shape their business. Jacob Lecinski, full-time Psychology and Business student at the Queensland University of Technology, joined Nifty Personal Loans in June 2017 to learn more about the FinTech industry.

“Working at Nifty has been one of the best career decisions I have made and I am an extremely grateful and happy team member. I get to work alongside industry professionals who are, on a day to day basis, looking to enhance the business through efficiencies and processes by studying the market and looking to all staff members for their joint input, valuing everyone’s diverse perspectives and opinions.”

“Nifty has equipped me with skills and experiences that have contributed to both my personal and career development working within an extremely positive team and growing business environment.”

As an aspiring HR professional, Jacob has been influential in developing the company’s policies, specifically regarding training and recruitment processes, said Andrew Bell, Nifty’s Managing Director.

To apply for the Nifty scholarship, email the details of your studies to [email protected] along with a cover letter which addresses why you’d be a good candidate and how you view the impact of FinTech on the shifting landscape in the financial services sector in Australia over the next ten years.
