Telstra and Huddle announce insurance partnership

Huddle, the direct-to-consumer insurance service under fintech Open and Telstra, Australia’s largest telco this morning announced a partnership that enables Telstra Plus members to earn Telstra Plus points when they insure with Huddle.

The company which is part is part of the Australian fintech group, Open, says its goal is to create simple, online car and home insurance. For its part, Open sees its role as building infrastructure for the global insurance industry.

For Telstra, the relationship is about adding further value to its Telstra Plus rewards loyalty program which has been running for 18 months.

According to Telstra Group Executive Michael Ackland, “This partnership is an exciting milestone for Telstra and our 2.5 million customers who have signed up to the Telstra Plus rewards program. Part of our T22 strategy, it’s all about offering members fantastic access to exclusive offers and benefits with other leaders in technology, and in the insurance space, Huddle certainly fits that bill.”
