Teachers Mutual Bank Limited recognises teachers and nurses in a first for Australian card issuers

Teachers Mutual Bank Limited (TMBL) is innovating in the digital wallet space to recognise teachers, nurses and midwives.

In an Australian-first for card issuers, TMBL divisions Teachers Mutual Bank and Health Professionals Bank are piloting targeted, feel-good messages that a member sees when they tap with their smartphone at the checkout.

The initiative will run from 18 March – 17 June 2022 with messages appearing on digital Visa Debit and Visa cards for Teachers Mutual Bank and Health Professionals Bank.

This new channel allows relevant brand messages to have cut-through in the moment – right at the Point of Sale.

It is a unique way to acknowledge teachers and healthcare professionals who have given tremendous service to their communities, especially over the past two years.

‘We know that the last two years have been particularly challenging for teachers and healthcare workers,’ Nichole Banks, Chief Marketing Officer, Teachers Mutual Bank Limited

‘Teachers, nurses and midwives have been under immense pressure throughout the pandemic; notwithstanding the additional challenges brought about by natural disasters – floods, droughts and bushfires. We’re excited to be leveraging a new communication channel to deliver targeted, brand-aligned messages to specific niches. These messages are a unique way of showing our members that we support them and that we care.’

Teachers Mutual Bank Limited has a values-based ethos and is passionate about providing banking for good, for those who do good. Teachers Mutual Bank Limited is also proud to be a leader in digital banking innovation.

‘We believe that the future of banking is both digital and ethical and we’re proud to be leading the way.’ Nichole Banks, Chief Marketing Officer, Teachers Mutual Bank Limited
