Introducing BitBack: Australia’s first Bitcoin cashback shopping platform
BitBack, Australia’s newest fintech, launched an Australia-first shopping platform that enables users to earn Bitcoin cashback when they shop either online or in-store at 1,500 stores and over 400,000 hotels worldwide.
With a one-time linking of their existing debit cards or credit cards to the BitBack app, users will automatically earn Bitcoin cashback any time that card is used with a participating brand, both online or in-store. BitBack currently offers Bitcoin cashback deals with global brands like Sony, Adidas, The North Face, Helly Hanson and Superdry to domestic brands like Milkrun, Hertz, LSKD and Jimmy Brings. The app also offers Bitcoin cashback deals with local restaurants, bars and cafes.
“This product is designed to introduce thousands of new people to the benefits of Bitcoin,” explained BitBack Co-Founder, Leigh Dunsford. “BitBack is an easy, fun, and zero-cost way for anybody and everybody to experience Bitcoin without any investment. Everyday activities like ordering your groceries, shopping or getting an afternoon coffee could now earn you Bitcoin. We’ve made it as easy as that.”
Interest in Bitcoin is on the rise once more following its peak earlier in the year. The introduction of Bitcoin exchange traded funds ETFs) globally, which have become the most successful ETF products ever, has solidified its acceptance among traditional investment institutions, with expectations for continued growth in the future.
“With increased interest in Bitcoin comes the need for a simple and stress-free way to combine the world of Bitcoin with their everyday shopping habits and that’s what BitBack does,” added BitBack Co-Founder Prashant Rajkhowa, “Our proposition is straight-forward: Shop where you would regularly, use your existing cards and you could earn Bitcoin for it.”
In addition to being Australia’s first Bitcoin-native cashback shopping platform, BitBack is importantly a merchant-funded program, meaning our brand partners reward our customers for shopping via BitBack and BitBack delivers this experience in a simple, fun and free way. Our brand partners have recognised the rapidly growing interest in Bitcoin and the millions of shoppers that already exist within the category seeking brands that promote Bitcoin specific loyalty offers via BitBack.
“It speaks to the innovative nature of these brands that want to be associated with a dynamic, transparent and modern asset class that offers instantaneous, flexible loyalty for shoppers,” said Dunsford. “We expect more brands to join our platform in the coming months as the attraction to unlock the millions of shoppers in this consumer segment can drive enormous loyalty from shoppers wanting a differentiated experience tied to the growth, fascination and adoption of Bitcoin.
