Ebury becomes Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles Match-Day jersey sponsor

Global foreign exchange (FX) and trade finance leader Ebury will become the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles jersey sponsor for this Saturday’s match against the Warriors at Go Media Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand.

Ebury, which is a global foreign exchange company that operates from 31 offices across 5 continents and specialises in cross-border payments, is temporarily stepping in for Manly’s regular jersey sponsor PointsBet which has been ruled out because of New Zealand law.

The 2003 New Zealand Gaming Act prohibits marketing for international gambling businesses for any betting firm that operates outside of the country.

Ebury APAC Managing Director, Rick Roache (pictured with players) said Ebury was thrilled to partner with the Manly Sea Eagles, albeit briefly.

“This collaboration comes at an opportune time, as we are moving forward with our imminent expansion into the New Zealand market,” Mr Roache said.

Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles CEO Tony Mestrov welcomed Ebury. “Ebury are leaders in their field and their front of jersey sponsorship for the one-off Warriors game in Auckland will help them set the scene for the growth of their business across the Tasman,’’ Mestrov said.

“It’s a very exciting time at the Sea Eagles and we thank Rick and all the team at Ebury for coming on board. We look forward to further developing and growing our relationship with them,” Mestrov added.

Ebury which established its Australian operation in 2018, is one of the largest non-banks in the world that focuses on SME and funds trading internationally. It has FX and trade finance capabilities in more than 130 currencies.
