Australian FinTech partners with Australia’s leading Crowdfunding platform OnMarket

In a movement to continue fostering a thriving environment for fintech, Australian FinTech is delighted to announce our official partnership with Australia’s leading IPO and Equity Crowdfunding platform OnMarket. This new partnership is a step towards growing the support network and shared knowledge between Australian fintech businesses.

OnMarket has revolutionised the way wholesale and retail offerings into listed and unlisted companies are made available to investors by providing the world’s first free-access portal and app for capital raisings. OnMarket makes investing and capital raising an efficient, simple and transparent process that is accessible to everyday investors and innovative and growth stage businesses.

As a marketplace platform, OnMarket acts as the intermediary between retail investors and issuing companies. Since launching in 2015, 1 in every 3 ASX IPOs have been offered to investors through OnMarket. As of January 2018, OnMarket raised over $55 million through 85 successful offerings. The OnMarket Crowd is made up of more than 35,000 active investors.

OnMarket was the first Australian platform to submit and be granted an Equity Crowdfunding license. By investing in companies offering equity via OnMarket, everyday investors can share in the upside in high growth and high potential companies with as little $50.

The OnMarket App is Australia’s No.1 investing app and it’s free to join and invest. Members can also participate in the OnMarket Rewards program that pays members every time someone they refer invests, and rewards members with Frequent Flyer points when they invest into an Equity Crowdfunding Offer.

When speaking at the official launch of the OnMarket app, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said:

“OnMarket is borne out of the belief that technology has the power to transform capital markets. The brilliance of this application is simply that it makes it easier to buy, to trade. It will open up the investment market considerably. An application that offers people more choice and more freedom is going to do better. The more choice you give people, the more freedom you give people, the more likely they will transact with you…”

Australian FinTech and OnMarket plan to utilise this new partnership to create greater awareness and encourage communication in the Equity Crowdfunding space. OnMarket CEO, Ben Bucknell said:

“Together with Australian FinTech we have a unique opportunity to collaborate and to leverage our combined relationships with established players and industry and policy makers to effect real change.”

Australian FinTech CEO and Co-Founder Cameron Dart added, “As Australian FinTech helps grow the local FinTech industry and promote Aussie FinTech companies to the world, we’re aligning ourselves with the market leaders. Partnering with OnMarket is part of that progression and we look forward to the journey ahead with them. It’s an exciting time for FinTech in Australia and we’re glad to be a big part of it.”
