Applications open for the prestigious New York Immersion Program for FinTechs scaling up into the USA

FD Global Connections, which works with organisations to launch their businesses in the USA, today announced applications are open for its prestigious New York Immersion Program targeting FinTechs, RegTechs and InsurTechs ready to scale up into the US market.

There are only limited places available for the exclusive opportunity to get in front of some the New York’s leading investors, customers, mentors and industry-leading professional service providers. The program provides an enormous head start into a market that is often considered remarkably challenging to break into.

The New York Immersion program run by FD Global Connections, is in partnership with Tyro FinTech Hub (www.tyrofintechhub.com) and supported by Australian FinTech (www.australianfintech.com.au). During the program, participants are required to attend workshops in Sydney, and one week of intensive, fully curated, individually designed program with partner Lab1492 (www.lab1492.com), an established and highly successful New York based accelerator.

Founder and CEO of FD Global Connections, Trena Blair has lived and worked in New York for many years, giving her a keen insight into the regulatory, start-up and financial landscape, building robust networks across many industries. This is the second NY Immersion Program for FinTech’s, the first which was held in October 2017.

Trena states “with the exceptional results for the first FinTech and recent Female Founders New York Immersion Program, we are forging ahead with our accomplished partner Lab1492. Once companies are accepted into the Program applicants will participate in an intensive “Discovery Session” of their USA market strategies including a review of their investor and business development pitch decks. This will be followed by fully curated Sydney and New York workshops to connect participants face-to-face with the right Venture Capitalists and prospective clients to pitch their businesses. There are also exclusive dinners, networking events and one-on-one mentoring from some of the city’s most exceptional business leaders.”

Jennifer Byrne, Lab1492 Founder and CEO, continues “Lab 1492 is delighted to be collaborating with FD Global Connections on this unique and important NYC Immersion Program. We are excited by the opportunity to advise and support Australian companies who join the program, and look forward to reviewing their USA strategies, meeting and working with them during their week in New York”.

New York continues to be a heavyweight when it comes to its innovation economy with the NY Economic Development Corporation continuing to implement and support unique programs. Since 2009, $8bn in venture capital funding has been invested in NYC-based startups.

Andrew Corbett-Jones, head of Tyro’s Fintech Hub and program partner says of the program: “You can’t underestimate how difficult is it is to expand into another country, particularly the USA. Some companies only get one shot at getting into this market, and access to Trena’s network’s knowledge and experience will radically improve their chances of doing well.”

Members of Australian FinTech are offered an early bird discount of $450.00 for the first company representative who joins the program. This offer is available until Friday 14th September.

Further, successful applicants may be eligible for a government Export Market Development Grant to assist with the cost of the program http://www.austrade.gov.au/australian/export/export-grants/about/what-is-emdg.

Applications close on 5th October and can be submitted at http://www.fdglobal.com.au/scaling-up-programs/scaling-up-fintech-2018/
