Zeller Terminal streamlines the hospitality experience with new Split Payments feature

Zeller, the Australian fintech revolutionising business banking, is elevating the hospitality payment experience with the release of a new Split Payments feature for Zeller Terminal. This functionality enables customers to effortlessly split a payment evenly by the number of diners, or by a custom value, from the Zeller EFTPOS Terminal.

Typical EFTPOS payments products have not evolved to meet the needs of large hospitality venues, which face various checkout scenarios at the end of a sitting. Technology from incumbent providers often leaves one diner to foot the entire bill, then having to chase other diners for payment afterwards.

Zeller’s new Split Payments functionality adapts to a variety of scenarios, by splitting a bill evenly by selecting the number of diners, or by custom values to account for individual orders — removing the inconvenience diners commonly face at the end of a group meal.

“Australian hospitality businesses lead the way in the adoption of new technology to elevate the dining experience. Whether it’s through Zeller Pay at Table to accelerate the speed at which tables are turned over, or through EFTPOS-enabled Split Payments to complete the dining experience with a positive checkout, solutions that offer convenience to customers and streamline operations for waitstaff help restaurateurs differentiate in an increasingly competitive environment” commented Joshua McNicol, Zeller Director of Growth. “We’ve received outstanding feedback on Zeller Terminal’s new Split Payments functionality, and are excited to continue to deliver on our commitment to boost payments innovation to support Australia’s hospitality sector.”

Benefits of Zeller Terminal’s new Split Payments functionality include:

  • Increased diner satisfaction: Giving customers more choice in how they settle the bill at the end of a meal improves satisfaction at the closing moment of a dining experience.
  • Faster checkout: Enabling customers to split the cost of a meal in one transaction reduces checkout time and accelerates table turnover.
  • Streamlined payment flow: Zeller Terminal’s large, 5.5” display, combined with the unique design of the Split Payments feature interface, delivers an elegant, simplified payment experience for diners and waitstaff.
  • Increased tips for staff: Zeller Terminal’s Split Payments feature offers the option for each diner to leave a tip, increasing the opportunity for waitstaff to be rewarded for great service. In recent testing, restaurants using Split Payments were more than three times more likely to receive a tip in comparison to those who did not have this feature enabled.

“Zeller Terminal’s Split Payment feature has been a game-changer, making the process a breeze. Our customers appreciate the flexibility, and our team loves the simplicity of splitting the bill without slowing them down. It eliminates the typical awkwardness at the end of a meal when working out the bill,” said Antoine Reymond, co-owner of iconic Melbourne-based French restaurant group L’Hotel Gitan, Frederic and Bistro Gitan.

For venues equipped with Zeller Terminal, Split Payments can be enabled directly from the device or via Zeller Dashboard. Find more information about Zeller Terminal and Split Payments here.
