Xinja appoints Tesla Senior Engineer Thomas Vikstrom to Board
Xinja, which is building an independent, Australian, 100% digital ‘neobank’, today announced that Tesla senior engineer, Thomas Vikstrom, has been appointed to the Xinja Board.
Mr. Vikstrom is an engineer with nearly 20 years of experience leading product development and engineering programs at Tesla, Ford, Noble Metal Processing and SSAB HardTech, Inc.
Vikstrom is currently a senior engineer at Tesla where he has worked for nine years, helping to develop and introduce Tesla products.
“Banking, like automotive in the past, is an industry ripe for change,” Mr. Vikstrom said. “I’ll be looking beyond what is, and imagining what could be, enabling Xinja to disrupt banking and improve the lives of people and the
world in which they live,” he said.
“It’s exciting when a start-up like Xinja muscles its way into an industry and goes up against established players. That’s a big win for all,” he said.
Xinja CEO and co-founder Eric Wilson said Mr. Vikstrom’s intellectual discipline and vision will be an outstanding addition to the Xinja Board and his influence will be central for the game-changing start-up.
“Thomas is an adaptive leader who possesses a rare combination of strategic and critical thinking,” said Mr. Wilson.
From the start, Xinja has sought out the views of its customers and key stakeholders, to help build a bank that will meet their needs, Mr. Wilson said.
Xinja’s aim is to provide intuitive banking, that helps customers better understand and manage their money. Mr. Vikstrom is a natural leader in new technology and ways of thinking.
“He brings to the Xinja Board a business acumen and entrepreneurial drive, along with the global experience Xinja needs, to really help us change the banking industry,” Mr. Wilson said.
Mr. Vikstrom joins Xinja Chair Lindley Edwards, and other board directors, including Craig Swanger and new Board Advisor, Brett King.
