Woolworths first Aussie supermarket to offer Apple Pay

Today marks the first time an Aussie supermarket is joining the banks by offering Apple Pay to its credit card holders.

The release comes as the next step after Woolworths integrated its Rewards Card with Apple Wallet back in 2017.

“We are seeing digital wallets grow in popularity because they offer quick, seamless and hassle-free payments for customers,” Woolworths Head of Financial Services, Digital and Payments Paul Monnington said.

“With the launch of Woolworths Credit Cards with Apple Pay, we’re pleased to be extending choice and convenience to all our card holders.”

Customers will continue to receive all the rewards and benefits that come with the Woolworths Everyday Platinum Credit Card, like 10% off their Woolworths groceries once a month, and now they have the option of simply tapping their iPhone or Apple Watch to make purchases.
