The Australian CFO Community searches for the country’s top finance leaders

The Australian CFO Community, a networking and professional development resource for finance teams established by spend management platform, Weel (previously known as DiviPay) is on the hunt for Australia’s top finance leaders for their first-ever Australian CFO Awards 2022, after identifying a gap in the sector.

The inaugural awards will honour the unheralded Chief Financial Officers, Financial Controllers, contributors and finance teams for their exceptional achievements over the last 12 months.

All finalists will be invited to a modern gala event at Hinchcliff House, Sydney, on Wednesday, 30 November, where winners will be announced.

Nominations can be made here and will be peer-reviewed by a diverse panel of highly regarded industry leaders, including Bank of Queensland CFO Racheal Kellaway, Challenger CFO Rachel Grimes, and CFO Leadership Expert and Mentor, Alena Bennett.

Panellist Alena Bennett said the awards night was the perfect opportunity for Australian businesses from all industries to reward excellence and for individuals to propel their careers.

“These awards are a great opportunity to recognise the efforts of finance leaders and the value they create for their businesses and communities as a whole. I am thoroughly looking forward to reading the submissions and celebrating the contributions and achievements of the financial community,” Bennett said.

Sponsors include global fintech firm GoCardless, Australian fraud-tech company eftsure, The CFO Boardroom community by Alena Bennett, Sydney accounting firm Prime Partners and accounts receivable software company, ezyCollect, and more.

Weel CFO Damon Hauenstein said, “Weel has always been community-driven, so we established The Australian CFO Community as a networking and professional development resource for finance teams. These awards are just one example of how we aim to give finance leaders and aspirants the chance to showcase their achievements and learn from one another. We hope to encourage finance professionals from all backgrounds to help grow the community by nominating their peers.”
