Technology Scale-up Awards 2023 have officially launched
The third annual Technology Scale-up Awards have officially launched today, with award partners including Hamilton Locke, Ansarada, Findex, Source and Tank Stream Labs. This year’s awards will also feature the first in-person award ceremony, to be hosted by Tank Stream Labs in Sydney on 31 August 2023.
The awards celebrate disruptive Australian technology businesses that demonstrate high rates of sustainable growth, innovation, integrity, and contribution to the community, while making a significant impact in their industry sectors. The awards are a fantastic opportunity for tech companies and entrepreneurs to gain industry recognition, meet and connect with companies and founders in the same growth phase, attract interest from potential investors and business partners, and gain access to exclusive industry events.
Nick Humphrey, Chairman of the Technology Scale-up Awards, said of the second annual Technology Scale-up Awards, “Australian tech scale-ups continue to impress, with a large number of high quality nominations submitted by companies who have navigated the lingering effects of a global pandemic such as the war for talent, resourcing delays and hyper competitive markets to demonstrate continued growth, resilience, and innovation.”
Eligible applicants in 2023 will have been in operation for two or more years, have annual revenue of up to AUD $25 million, and have been founded in Australia or have majority Australian ownership. This excludes nominations in the ‘One to Watch’ category, for which the turnover requirement is up to $3 million. Nominations will be assessed by an independent panel of industry judges.
In addition to a new industry category, Consumer Goods and Services of the Year, the Technology Scale-up Awards have also introduced a “Tech Entrepreneur of the Year Award” for Australian tech entrepreneurs that have been in their field for over two years and are currently involved (CEO/C-Suite/Exec Director or equivalent position) in a company with annual turnover of up to $25 million.

- Technology Scale-up of the Year Award (awarded to the overall winner of the industry categories)
- Tech Entrepreneur of the Year Award (new)
- Consumer Goods and Services of the Year Award (new)
- FinTech of the Year Award
- EdTech of the Year Award
- AgTech of the Year Award
- SpaceTech of the Year Award
- Business and Professional Services of the Year Award
- Health, Life Sciences and BioTech of the Year Award
- Sustainability and CleanTech of the Year Award
- One to Watch Award
