Superhero takes off with Qantas Frequent Flyer partnership

Qantas Frequent Flyer and trading platform Superhero have announced a new partnership to give members the opportunity to earn Qantas Points when investing.

From today, frequent flyers – and frequent investors – can trade their way to their next holiday by earning up to 15,000 bonus points when they sign up, trade and transfer with Superhero until 28 February 2022.

New and existing traders who sign up to Superhero and Qantas Frequent Flyer can:

  • Earn up to 5,000 points on the first 10 Eligible Trades (500 points per trade).
  • Earn up to 10,000 points for transferring their existing US and or AU share portfolio to Superhero (5,000 points per transfer).
  • Also earn 100 points per trade ongoing and one point per $5 transferred from AUD to USD within the platform.

Superhero Co-Founder and CEO John Winters said the partnership comes at the perfect time as both international and domestic travel re-opens and Australians look to make the most of their money.

“With travel opening up for Australians, we’re particularly excited to announce this partnership. It’s been a difficult couple of years and this new offer will allow Australians to grow both their wealth as well as their Qantas points balance,” said Winters.

“There’s been a big generational shift for Australians to become more engaged with their finances – and this partnership will help us support more Australians with their investing and wealth goals – as well as literally helping them to take to the skies with Qantas.”

Qantas Loyalty CEO Olivia Wirth said that Superhero would appeal to frequent flyers interested in new ways to manage wealth and invest.

“Frequent flyers can earn points walking, sleeping, shopping, flying and now share trading,” Ms Wirth said.

“This partnership with Superhero reflects a focus on providing our members with more ways to earn Qantas Points”.

“Research shows that almost nine million Australians hold shares, so we think being able to earn points while trading shares will be popular with a large number of our frequent flyers.”

Superhero’s platform offers low cost trading with flat brokerage fees of $5 for Australian shares, no brokerage fees for US trades and no brokerage fees to buy ETFs with minimum investments starting from US$50.

The platform, which has 140,000 users, is designed to make investing and wealth management transparent and accessible and offers detailed investment tracking and reporting.
