Payments innovator Zepto appoints Laura Mineo as Chief Financial Officer

Zepto, a leading innovator in account-to-account payments, has revealed its latest C-Suite appointment with Laura Mineo taking the reins as Chief Financial Officer.

Returning home to Australia, Laura joins Zepto following a successful stint in New York as Chief Financial Officer at Rokt – a global eCommerce technology leader – and Executive Director at investment bank Goldman Sachs.

Joining a Byron Bay-based fintech after thriving in the cut-and-thrust world of ecommerce and finance in New York might seem an unusual choice to some. But Laura doesn’t see it that way.

“I couldn’t be more excited about joining the brilliant team at Zepto,” said Laura.

“They have created something truly special, and there’s an incredible opportunity in front of us. Zepto’s trusted, world-class technology opens up a unique set of access points to Australia’s payments infrastructure. We are changing the way value moves through the economy and redefining the future of business payments,” she added.

Laura is the first C-Suite appointment at Zepto since Julia Bearzatto was named Chief Product Officer in November 2022, and joins at a time where the company is growing into an increasingly enterprise customer-focused space.

“We are thrilled to welcome Laura to Zepto’s leadership team,” said CEO Chris Jewell.

“It’s exciting to tap into the experience Laura gained driving global strategy at Goldman Sachs through a period of transformation, and leading Rokt’s finance function and funding strategy through hyper growth and international expansion. It’s a rare mix, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her on board,” he added.

Laura’s arrival is the latest in a string of recent company milestones shaping the future of the business. In late 2022, Zepto was named Business NSW’s 2022 Business of the Year, launched into New Zealand, and was approved to onboard to the New Payments Platform (NPP) as a PayTo payment initiator directly connecting to Australia’s real-time rails. In doing so, Zepto became the first non-bank Connected Institution on the NPP.

Laura’s work with some of the most sophisticated financial institutions in the world bolsters Zepto’s international experience and insights as the business assesses global opportunities.
