Market Matters Invest launches via partnership with fintech investment platform OpenInvest
Retail investor platform Market Matters today announces the launch of its digital investing solution – Market Matters Invest – giving subscribers and the broader investment community access to three of its popular investment portfolios, together with informative and engaging content:
- Active High Conviction Portfolio;
- Income Portfolio; and
- Emerging Companies Portfolio.
All portfolios are managed by the Market Matters team, led by senior portfolio manager James Gerrish, who has extensive portfolio management experience gained over a distinguished 20-year career in financial markets. He is backed by a team of research analysts and offers a straight-talking, concise and informed approach to investing – explaining decisions to members in unique detail.
Market Matters Invest is being delivered via a partnership with Melbourne-based fintech investment platform, OpenInvest.
Gerrish commented that he was launching the solution to give Market Matters subscribers, along with the wider investment community, an easier and more efficient way to follow their approach and actions.
“It’s a very simple digital sign-up process, and thereafter we will manage the client’s portfolio for them, undertaking all trades, providing regular commentary and thorough reporting, accessible via our app,” Gerrish said.
Gerrish added that he was particularly pleased to be launching Market Matters Invest at a time when there has been heightened interest by everyday Australians in investing in the stockmarket – referring to the launch of a number of expensively advertised trading apps, encouraging Australians to try their luck at share trading while promoting cheap brokerage.
“Investing is a complex business, full of risks and uncertainties – as the current geo-political environment makes all too clear – and we believe Australian retail investors benefit from having a full-time, well-resourced team in their corner. Yes, cheap brokerage is nice, but what’s more important is what you’re investing in, when to rebalance and reweight portfolios, and how to get diversification right. That’s what Market Matters Invest offers, all for a transparent and reasonable management fee – and zero brokerage,” Gerrish explained.
Ravi Verma, Head of Distribution at OpenInvest, said he was excited to be partnering with the experienced and credible portfolio management and content team at Market Matters.
“James and his team have an excellent reputation in financial markets, and high levels of engagement and trust with their large audience of retail investors. We’re proud to be playing our role in underpinning the Market Matters Invest solution.”
