Laura Mercurio announced as new CEO of Blockchain Australia
The Board of Blockchain Australia have announced the appointment of Laura Mercurio as the next CEO of Blockchain Australia, effective Monday 12th of September 2022.
Blockchain Australia is Australia’s peak industry body that represents Australian businesses and business professionals participating in the digital economy through blockchain.
Laura Mercurio’s appointment as CEO is timely as we head into a period of significant regulatory and policy consultation that will shape the regulatory future of digital assets in Australia. Laura will guide the organisation in its ongoing mission to be the leading voice for digital assets and the blockchain industry in Australia through the growth of its membership base and through working closely with Government, government agencies & regulators to shape the future of blockchain technology and digital assets.
Laura Mercurio joins us with a wealth of experience and has a unique and varied background with a broad range of experience across corporate, consulting, technology start-ups & scale up organisations spanning multiple sectors and geographies across the globe. Laura has a passion for driving change through innovative solutions, digital transformation and emerging technology and has experience that includes working with a number of large global investment banks (BlackRock, Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank), FinTech’s and various Government & regulatory bodies and blockchain businesses globally.
