Klarna and BigCommerce extend partnership to Australia
Klarna, a leading global shopping experience and payments provider and BigCommerce, a leading SaaS ecommerce platform for fast-growing and established brands, have announced the further expansion of their partnership into the Australian market.
Since 2016, BigCommerce and Klarna have helped retail businesses across Europe and the United States grow successfully. With this expansion, Australian retailers on the BigCommerce platform will now have the ability to integrate Klarna’s seamless shopping experience and flexible payment options into their Australian customer offering.
An optimised consumer journey has been shown to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty, while paying in instalments increases average order value (AOV) by up to 45% and a decrease in the number of shoppers who abandon carts.
Through this expanded integration, Australian merchants will have access to the tools they need to maintain a powerful ecommerce presence, and their consumers will enjoy payment flexibility and an improved shopping experience.
Fran Ereira, Country Head, Klarna Australia & New Zealand said, “Customers love the totally frictionless shopping experience they have with Klarna. We offer the most sophisticated and intuitive payment solutions to meet customers’ changing needs. From a retailer’s perspective, we make things safe and easy – and from a customer perspective we remove the risk through our Klarna Buyer’s Protection. Our partnership with BigCommerce allows us to bring this experience to even more retailers at a time when making things simple is so critical. Together we will help retailers meet the increasingly high demands of consumers in a competitive environment where your customer experience really must stand out.”
Shannon Ingrey, General Manager, APAC for BigCommerce said, “All too often, checkout serves as a major – but unnecessary– point of friction in the online buying journey. Consumers should feel empowered to make a purchase, not paralysed by uncertainty. Klarna has been instrumental in helping BigCommerce merchants around the world remove those barriers to purchases so they can instead focus on creating brand loyalty through a pleasant checkout experience, and we’re excited to expand our partnership to the local community.”
BigCommerce customer and successful Australian furniture retailer in the US Kardiel reports the integration of Klarna in the US played an important role in helping customers pay for purchases of their Scandinavian-inspired pieces.
Kardiel Deputy Vice President Debbie Kilmer said, “One benefit we’ve found with Klarna’s buy now, pay later offer is that it is so easy for our customers to apply and receive confirmation back concerning approval and terms offered. Other credit processes we’ve seen are lengthy for the client and complicated for our team to initiate. The easy use of this system for everyone involved is such a benefit. Klarna really gives the client control of their purchasing decisions with the easy review of what payment style works best for them!”
