Identitii completes 2018 Mastercard Start Path program

Start Path, a six month program that runs four times a year, connects innovative later-stage FinTechs with Mastercard’s global ecosystem. Start Path selects FinTechs that have the potential to scale globally and aims to open the door for companies to innovate on top of Mastercard’s existing technology infrastructure.
“Mastercard Start Path has given Identitii the opportunity to reach new potential customers and to demonstrate how our Overlay+ platform can enhance the secure sharing of documents and information in a MasterCard environment,” says Ben Buckingham, COO, Identitii. “As one of only 40 participants in the program this year, Identitii was able to demonstrate a clear use case for blockchain and tokensation to help achieve intelligent information sharing in a secure, trusted and auditable way.”
Identitii was chosen as one of only 40 participants for the 2018 program, out of 2,000 applicants from around the world. The Start Path program provided Identitii with the opportunity to present its Overlay+ platform to Mastercard customers globally in Miami, FL, as well as to identify key use cases for Overlay+ within Mastercard and Mastercard’s customer environments.
Identitii is helping banks and corporates reduce the US $2 trillion that is laundered through financial systems annually by enabling them to securely share information and documentation related to a transaction at the time a payment is initiated. It’s platform Overlay+ uses a private blockchain and unique identifiers called Identitii Tokens to enable Know Your Transaction, not just Know Your Customer, provding more confidence in the origin, purpose and beneficiary of a payment for banks and corporates.
