Briefcase’s multi-asset ETF portfolios receive first SQM Research rating
Briefcase, the Australian investment platform delivering personalised portfolio solutions for advisers, has received a 3.75-star “Favourable” rating from SQM Research for its Multi-Asset ETF Model Portfolios – a strong endorsement of the platform’s investment capability and approach.
The inaugural rating applies across Briefcase’s suite of five risk-based portfolios (Conservative to High Growth), available via leading platform structures including SMAs, MDAs and IMAs. Each portfolio is constructed using ASX-listed ETFs, combining global asset class diversification with a systematic, research-led investment process.
Josh Persky, Founder and CEO of Briefcase, said the rating reflects Briefcase’s commitment to transparency, precision, and alignment with advisers’ needs.
“This recognition by SQM validates our approach to delivering scalable, transparent, and personalised portfolio solutions that support better outcomes for advisers and their clients,” Persky said.
“This rating means these model portfolios can now be considered for Approved Product List (APL) inclusion – it’s another step forward in ensuring more investors have access to high-quality investment strategies without unnecessary cost or complexity.”
Key features of the Briefcase model portfolios noted in the SQM report include:
- Deep experience across the investment team in asset allocation, managed accounts and portfolio construction
- A systematic and disciplined portfolio management process
- Full transparency, daily liquidity and unbiased ETF selection through an issuer-agnostic approach
- Clearly defined asset allocation frameworks aligned to investor risk profiles
- A strong governance and compliance framework across all managed account structures
Available across platforms such as Praemium, Netwealth, BT Panorama, nabtrade and Bell Direct, the model portfolios are designed to give advisers the flexibility to implement diversified, outcome-oriented strategies while maintaining transparency and cost control.
