Basiq takes home the trophy for Best Open Banking Solution

It has been a significant 12 months at Basiq and the team were thrilled to take home the prize for Best Open Banking Solution for its Basiq 3.0 platform at this year’s Annual FinTech Awards.

At its core, Basiq is an API platform that supports some of Australia’s most innovative fintechs with access to the financial data needed to service their customers.

As an Accredited Data Recipient (ADR) with the Consumer Data Right (CDR), Basiq is able to provide its customers with access to Open Banking data via its 3.0 platform. Founder and CEO, Damir Cuca (pictured), says Basiq 3.0 was developed with the aim to become Australia’s first true Open Finance platform via a single API.

“Open Banking is a key enabler of innovation for fintechs. We wanted to ensure through Basiq 3.0 we were able to take the complexity out of accessing Open Banking data, while also future-proofing the system to make other data available as the CDR expands,” said Damir.

“Our vision is to make finance easy for everyday people. A reality where consumers are empowered to make smarter financial decisions and can engage with their finances in new and meaningful ways. It’s a privilege to be able to support our customers, our partners, deliver these products using Open Banking and reduce their time to market.”

“I really want to say a BIG thank you to the entire Basiq team and all of our partners that use the Basiq platform to deliver innovation to Australian and NZ consumers.” Damir said.

Basiq’s mission is to enable as many of its customers as possible access to Open Banking. To date, it has brought on 20 fintechs from across the fintech sector and is supporting a growing list of use cases, including; account verification, income checks, affordability assessments, real-time balance checks, money management, round ups and payment initiation.

Basiq is continually looking for new ways to make finance easy and support innovation in the fintech sector. Keep an eye out for some big announcements in the coming months!
