5. In one sentence, what does your fintech do?: Auxilis build technology that takes complex and often hard to access information in various forms and then transform and present it in a more usable form so that our customers can make better decisions.

6. How / why did you start your fintech company?: To help inform our customers to make better decisions. My partner Daniel and I have both worked in senior roles for several successful startups and we wanted to create one ourselves.

7. What is the best thing your company has achieved or learnt along the way (this can include awards, capital raising etc)?: We recently inked a partnership deal with a large comparison company to build and market a state of the art comparison tool that we intend to take to the global market.

8. What’s some advice you’d give to an aspiring start-up?: Don’t give up. Find trusted partners with complementary services or needs that already have large numbers of customers.

9. What’s next for your company? And are you looking to expand overseas or stay focused on Australia?: We already have customers in Australia, New Zealand and the UK and we are expanding into the US market in the smart data extraction and comparison industry spaces. We are also partnering with EU based, Payment Components, to offer Open Banking technology in Australasia.

What’s the most interesting or funniest moment that’s happened in your company’s lifetime?: It’s been an exhausting challenge to cross the startup valley of death but it’s also been a great opportunity to grow and learn. The salary is lower but for me it’s far more rewarding than working for some other large corporate or institution.
