  1. In one sentence, what does your fintech do?

WLTH simplifies the way everyday Australians manage their finances, allowing them to track all their assets and liabilities in one simple to use platform as well as their overall net position.

  1. How / why did you start your fintech company?:

A large problem we found in the wealth management industry was the disconnect that occurred when managing clients on a database software platform – clients never have access to this. The idea came about to solve this problem by creating a client-facing CRM tool, which would help consumers communicate with their circle of professionals, whilst making it easier to have everything stored and easily tracked from one, simple to  use location.

  1. What the best thing your company has achieved or learnt along the way (this can include awards, capital raising etc)?:

We were recognised as a finalist last year in The Urban Developer Awards for Excellence in Commercial Innovation. We are constantly learning as we go along and constantly being inspired by others in the FinTech space in Australia. It’s a very exciting time here at the moment, there is a lot going on and the adoption rates keep growing!

  1. What’s some advice you’d give to an aspiring start-up?:

If you are passionate about your idea/ concept/ product, then give it a crack. Plan carefully, completely understand your idea and the reason why you are doing it, and then look to dive deeper and create an innovation roadmap to map the idea and the journey ahead! It is important to have a clear understanding of where you want to go, how you are going to get there and the time frame you wish to do so.

  1. What’s next for your company? And are you looking to expand overseas or stay focussed on Australia?:

We are finalising the app store/ google play store release for our second product under the WLTH brand, Properlytics. Properlytics is a property calculations and investment tool for sophisticated investors and industry professionals. We will start looking into overseas markets once we are established in Australia.

  1. What other fintechs or companies do you admire?:

We really like Raiz, Xinja, Up Banking, Pelikin but are always featuring other Australian businesses in our weekly email the WLTH FinTech Five for Friday.

  1. What’s the most interesting or funniest moment that’s happened in your company’s lifetime?

Sitting down and discussing data with Seth Stephens-Davidowitz when he was in Australian for our soft launch. It was great to discuss his research when he was out in Australia to present ‘What Google can tell us about who we really are’. It was great to be able to sit with the former Google data scientist and get his thoughts and ideas about how we can get the best results for WLTH and form that relationship with him.
