5. In one sentence, what does your fintech do?
FuseWorks develops best-practice software for the global accounting industry, with a focus on digital client delivery that transforms internal workflows and enhances the client experience. FuseSign, our flagship e-signing platform, is the accountant’s choice for its intuitive features, rich integrations, and seamless alignment with leading accounting software.
6. How / why did you start your fintech company?
We founded FuseWorks after witnessing firsthand the inefficiencies in our own accounting practice – manual processes, poor system integrations, and clunky client experiences. With our combined expertise and background in accounting and technology, we set out to build and deliver software that genuinely simplified and elevates the way accountants work. Our mission has always been to empower professionals with solutions that streamline operations, transforms processes and enhances client experiences and that mission continues to guide us today.
7. What is the best thing your company has achieved or learnt along the way?
One of our proudest achievements is the global adoption of FuseSign, which has earned the trust of firms seeking a streamlined, secure e-signing experience. Along the way, we’ve learned that staying resilient and keeping a client-first mindset is crucial. Listening actively to user feedback and evolving our products accordingly has been key to our success and given us exponential growth and that of a leader in e-signing for Accountants.
8. What’s some advice you’d give to an aspiring start-up?
Start with a clear problem you care deeply about solving. Don’t wait for perfection – launch early, learn fast, and refine based on real feedback. Build authentic relationships, listen more than you speak, and stay adaptable. Most importantly, surround yourself with people who challenge and support you and who are aligned with your values.
9. What’s next for your company? And are you looking to expand overseas or stay focused on Australia?
We’re continuing to innovate by enhancing features, strengthening integrations, and expanding our ecosystem of accounting tech partnerships. While Australia remains our foundation, we’re actively growing our presence overseas, particularly in the UK, where demand for accounting digital transformation is rapidly increasing. Our international team is expanding to support this vision.
10. What other FinTech’s or companies do you admire?
We admire companies like Xero for revolutionising cloud accounting while staying authentically connected to the accounting community and its ecosystem of connected apps. We also draw inspiration from focused, purpose-driven FinTech’s like BGL, home-grown success stories that prioritise team culture and collaboration while delivering best-in-class solutions for the industry.
11. What’s the most interesting or funniest moment that’s happened in your company’s lifetime?
One of the most memorable and funniest moments was when our beloved FuseBot – our company mascot ‘ Fuse’ made its debut at Xerocon. It’s not just a suit you put on; you literally have to work your way into it! Melissa’s 6-foot-tall, 18-year-old son took on the challenge and became the most entertaining FuseBot ever. He roamed the expo floor with total commitment—interacting with attendees, posing for selfies, and breaking out dance moves that had the crowd (and cameras) in stitches. He absolutely stole the show and gave FuseBot its own legendary status in the accounting tech scene. It was the perfect mix of fun, family, and brand magic.
