5. In one sentence, what does your fintech do?: Sole helps Aussie sole traders and micro businesses simplify their finances, get paid faster and maximise their tax returns.
6. How / why did you start your fintech company?: 44% of Aussie small businesses fail within 5 years and our dream is to support and decrease this number.
7. What is the best thing your company has achieved or learnt along the way (this can include awards, capital raising etc)?: Sole has been awarded the Queensland Government Ignite Fund Grant which helps highly innovative new products to commercialise.
8. What’s some advice you’d give to an aspiring start-up?: Never stop talking to your customers, and always appreciate the value of human connection with them.
9. What other fintechs or companies do you admire?: We love the Atlassian products, especially Jira and Confluence, and they seem to just keep getting better. Simplicity is close to Sole’s heart, and they do this well.
10. What’s the most interesting or funniest moment that’s happened in your company’s lifetime?: We connected with a CEO of a large Australian Bank to learn about how they are looking at building a value-add services ecosystem for their customers.
