2. Website: www.kttipay.com

3. Key Staff & Titles: Iain Salteri – CEO and Founder. Richard Smith – Head of Product.

4. Location(s): Sydney

5. In one sentence, what does your fintech do?: KttiPay ends financial headaches and awkward chats over group payments by creating virtual Ktties which allows you to collect friends upfront, invite your friends, family or colleagues, and never chase people up for money again.

6. How / why did you start your fintech company?: Iain has been sick of being owed money from years of going to group events and picking up the bill and saying “you can pay me back later”. One day, Iain was stuck with a $500 bill when he had to pick up the tab for people who didn’t pay their tab after a birthday lunch. He figured there had to be a better way.

7. What is the best thing your company has achieved or learnt along the way (this can include awards, capital raising etc)?: Just getting the product from idea to launch has been a huge achievement for us.

8. What’s some advice you’d give to an aspiring start-up?: Just do it. It’s can be big and scary, but find great people to help fill your knowledge gaps and just give it a go. It’s never too late to start. Rome wasn’t built in a day, but if you have a great idea, and surround yourself with amazing people, you can achieve some amazing things.

9. What’s next for your company? And are you looking to expand overseas or stay focussed on Australia?: We have recently launched KttiPay, so we are focused on user and revenue growth within Australia, and will then look to raise capital towards the middle of next year in order to help improve our offering and team.

10. What other fintechs or companies do you admire?: Employment Hero is a great concept and business. A complete end to end solution that has enormous opportunity.

11. What’s the most interesting or funniest moment that’s happened in your company’s lifetime?: The first day we were able to test our KttiPay Visa Debit card, I was in such a rush to test it and make sure it worked that I bought the first thing on my mind off Amazon which was a tube of Colgate toothpaste. The toothpaste now sits in our office as a momento to where we have come from.
