5. In one sentence, what does your fintech do?: We are an Insights-as-a-Service (IaaS) business enabling enterprises to make fully informed customer decisions through descriptive and predictive data insights.
6. How / why did you start your fintech company?: Launched in 2013 to solve the problem of data access to improve lending decisioning.
7. What is the best thing your company has achieved or learnt along the way (this can include awards, capital raising etc)?: Learnings – The value that accurate data and analytics can provide to critical decision based use cases.
8. What’s some advice you’d give to an aspiring start-up?: Ensure you have the right people around you including mentors and make sure you achieve balance between your unicorn ambitions and the rest of your life.
9. What’s next for your company? And are you looking to expand overseas or stay focussed on Australia?: We will be increasing our range of Insight configurations against new use cases and decisioning journeys. This will take us into new verticals such as Telco/Utilities/Wealth/insurance etc. We will also be expanding our European footprint and are currently examining new territories to launch into.
10. What other fintechs or companies do you admire?: All local Fintechs that are pushing boundaries and punching above their weight. Patagonia is a model 21st century enterprise that has always been grounded in its roots and forging its own path.
11. What’s the most interesting or funniest moment that’s happened in your company’s lifetime?: Lots of funny moments but the one that stands out is probably realising what Mogo means in Ivory Coast slang ! (i’ll leave that one to be Googled).
