5. In one sentence, what does your fintech do?: ASL provides market leading Business Payment Solutions

6. How / why did you start your fintech company?: ASL was originally setup by a group of pioneering financial organisations to give them access to increased buying power and allow them to access all financial payment clearing streams in Australia. Today, ASL has evolved and now offers both local and International organisations access to simple, yet advanced payment solutions to power, secure and streamline their payment flows.

7. What is the best thing your company has achieved or learnt along the way (this can include awards, capital raising etc)?: In 2014, ASL, along with 11 other ADI’s (now 12), including the Reserve Bank and the four major banks in Australia, committed to build and operate the New Payments Platform (NPP). ASL were involved in all areas of the program to help create the way the NPP will work and were live on day one when NPP was turned on.

8. What’s some advice you’d give to an aspiring start-up?: Ensure you setup your payment eco-system correctly from the start. Compare the market, and talk with payment providers with a long history who are accredited, certified and regulated to ensure you and your customers payment flows are secure, safe and efficient.

9. What’s next for your company? And are you looking to expand overseas or stay focused on Australia?: We are looking to continue to build our market share, by utilising our personalised and tailored payments approach  – and support local businesses and international organisations looking to setup operations in Australia.

11. What’s the most interesting or funniest moment that’s happened in your company’s lifetime?: In over 30 years, ASL has never failed to settle.
