APAC Alternative Finance report shows impressive growth

Australia is second only to China in market volume. The alternative finance industry continues to thrive according to the 3rd Asia Pacific Region Alternative Finance Industry Report by KPMG and the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF) released this week. The global fintech sector has seen $117 billion invested in the last year, with $28 billion invested in Asia Pacific alone. Finance industry growing to favour AI

More than half of financial executives expect to see increased efficiency in their organisations as a result of artificial intelligence, according to a study by Baker McKenzie. The proportion of finance leaders anticipating increased productivity from AI comes to 52 per cent, a significant shift from 39 per cent in 2016. The report titled Ghosts in the Machine: Revisted queried 355 senior executives working for financial institutions globally. It was a follow up to Baker McKenzie’s 2016 study. Debtor finance group profits grow

A business finance group has reported its financial results with a profit increase of 14.1% from last year. Scottish Pacific had a profit before interest and tax of $47.6m. Its net profit after tax grew 17.4% to $29.7m, which it puts down to growing customers, operating efficiencies and solid cost controls. According to the group, strong growth from its core Debtor Finance facility was supported by growing customers expanding their facilities with Scottish Pacific. Average exposure over the year is up 15% to $998m and turnover is up 13.2% to $17.5b.
